On December 28, 2018, H.E. Wang Wentian, the new Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia, paid a courtesy call on Samdech Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

Ambassador Wang noted that China firmly supports Cambodia to safeguard national sovereignty and independence, to follow a development path suitable to its national conditions, and to achieve economic and social development in a sound and rapid way.

Prime Minister Hun Sen noted that the Cambodia-China traditional friendship has been continuously cultivated and developed in the new era, reaching unprecedented high level. Cambodia would work closely with China to continuously develop the Cambodia-China comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation, and facilitate more “Belt and Road” programs in Cambodia.
