Cambodia-China Friendship Association Reaffirms Adherence to One-China Principle

The Cambodia-China Friendship Association recently issued a statement reaffirming that the one-China principle is the solid foundation for friendly cooperation between the Cambodian and Chinese peoples, and that both sides are committed to jointly building an all-weather Cambodia-China community with a shared future in the new era that is strong, lasting, and mutually beneficial.

The statement emphasizes that the Government of the People's Republic of China is the sole legal government representing the whole of China, Taiwan is an inseparable part of China's territory, and the Taiwan question is purely China's internal affair. The Cambodia-China Friendship Association fully supports efforts of the Chinese government to safeguard sovereignty, territorial integrity, and national unity, resolutely opposes any form of "Taiwan independence," adheres to the principle of non-interference in other’s internal affairs, and will not develop any form of official relations with Taiwan. 

The statement points out that strictly adhering to and implementing the one-China principle will help consolidate and deepen the traditional friendship between Cambodia and China, enabling it to achieve steady and sustained progress, and benefiting the people of both countries.
