1. Please brief on the major outcomes of State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi's visit to Cambodia.

State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi paid an official visit to Cambodia on September 12th-13th. This is State Councilor's second visit to Cambodia since October last year. The visit was fruitful and successful, and has injected new impetus into the building of the China-Cambodia community with a shared future. Both sides emphasized on continued efforts to fully implement the important consensus reached by leaders of both countries on the development of bilateral relations, and boost the continuous high-level development of China-Cambodia relations with the action plan of the China-Cambodia community with a shared future as the main line.

The visit features 5 major highlights:

First, highly efficient schedule. In mere 22 hours of visit, State Councilor Wang Yi held talks respectively with Prime Minister Hun Sen, Deputy Prime Minister Hor Namhong and Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn, attended the handover ceremony of the China-aided stadium in Cambodia, witnessed the signing of six bilateral cooperation documents. The talks cover a wide range of issues, apart from bilateral relations, the two sides also made in-depth exchanges of views on international and regional issues, further enhancing mutual political trust at high level.

Second, stronger mutual support. Cambodia reiterated that it will strictly abide by the one-China principle and continue to firmly support China on issues concerning China's core interests and major concerns. China pledges full support to Cambodia. China supports the smooth governance of the Cambodian People's Party, the fight against power politics and bullying, the safeguarding of state sovereignty and national dignity. China supports Cambodia in combating COVID-19, developing economy and improving people's livelihood. China supports Cambodia in exploring a development path suited to its national conditions and playing a more active and important role in regional and international arenas.

Third, strengthened anti-pandemic cooperation. China announced to donate 3 million more COVID-19 vaccine doses to Cambodia, and solemnly pledged to guarantee the supply of vaccines to Cambodia at any time without an upper limit. Within this month, more than 30 million doses of vaccine will have been provided to Cambodia from China. In addition, China will strengthen cooperation with Cambodia in the field of health, enhance human resources training and further improve Cambodia's health care capacity.

Fourth, steady progress in practical cooperation. State Councilor Wang Yi and Prime Minister Hun Sen jointly attended the handover ceremony of the China-aided stadium and witnessed signing of six important documents on bilateral cooperation, including the Agreement on Economic and Technical Cooperation, the Handover Certificate of anti-pandemic supplies, the Handover Certificate of China-aided Cambodia landmine clearance project, the Handover Certificate of Humanitarian Demining Materials to the Cambodian Mine Action and Victim Assistance Authority, the Cooperation Agreement on Hospitals Counterpart Support  and the Agreement on the Cooperation Projects of the Mekong-Lancang Cooperation Special Fund, all of which provide important support for deepening practical cooperation in relevant fields. Both sides agree to continue promoting the construction of important Belt and Road projects such as the Sihanoukville Special Economic Zone, the Phnom Penh-Sihanoukville Expressway and Siem Reap New International Airport. China promises to expand imports of high-quality Cambodian agricultural products including rice, and make special arrangements to speed up market access approval process for Cambodia's longan and other agricultural products.

Fifth, deepened multilateral cooperation. Both sides oppose politicizing the origins tracing of the virus. Cambodia supports accelerating talks on the Code of Conduct in the South China Sea between China and ASEAN countries, reinforcing and boosting ASEAN-China relations and jointly safeguarding regional peace and stability. China reiterates its support for Cambodia's successful hosting of the 13th ASEM Summit  (ASEM 13) in November this year, and will work together to ensure that the meeting plays an important role in regional economic recovery and connectivity in the post-pandemic era. China firmly supports Cambodia's rotating chairmanship of ASEAN in 2022 to promote new progress in regional cooperation in East Asia.

2. What are your expectations for the future development of China-Cambodia relations?

China and Cambodia are good neighbors, good friends, good brothers and good partners. The two countries have always supported each other on issues concerning each other's core interests and offered each other assistance in times of greatest need. The more difficulties, the more united we are. This is what is commonly referred to as "iron-clad" friends. Prime Minister Hun Sen once said that Cambodia would not have accomplished this much without China's help. China is genuinely happy to see Cambodia's rapid development. China-Cambodia relations are facing unprecedented opportunities at present and I hope the mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Cambodia in various fields will set an example of friendly cooperation between countries.

First, an example of mutual political trust. The traditional friendship between China and Cambodia is deeply rooted and flourishes over time, and our strategic mutual trust has reached an unprecedented height. This year marks the centenary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Cambodian People's Party. Both ruling parties are the backbones to lead the two countries and peoples in carrying forward the traditional friendship and deepening cooperation. The two sides will continue to strengthen exchanges of governance experience and jointly prevent "color revolution" in the future so as to better safeguard the fundamental interests of the two peoples and provide an example for building a new type of international relations and a community with a shared future for mankind.

Second, an example of mutually beneficial cooperation. Practical cooperation between China and Cambodia enjoys a solid foundation and achieves remarkable results. China and Cambodia will further synergize their development strategies and accelerate the joint construction of Belt and Road Initiative with high quality, promote cooperation in infrastructure, production capacity, 5G and other fields, help Cambodia speed up its industrialization process and industrial transformation and upgrading. At the same time, China will expand imports of high-quality Cambodian agricultural products, and practically help Cambodia recover its economy and improve its people's livelihood.

Third, an example of mutual respect. In relations between China and Cambodia, we never rank countries according to their sizes, and we adhere to equal consultation and mutual respect. We never attach strings to our cooperation, make no "empty promises". We believe that mankind shares a common future and that all countries' interests are closely linked. We should treat each other with sincerity for common development and progress. We are ready to work with the brotherly Cambodian people to advance mutually beneficial practical cooperation in all fields, and make the China-Cambodia community with a shared future an example for mankind.

Fourth, an example of people-to-people exchanges. China and Cambodia are geographically close, culturally similar and mutually friendly, which construct the most important social foundation for our friendly cooperation. The two sides should continue to promote people-to-people exchanges, especially among youths, so as to learn from each other's strengths. We shall strengthen communication and interaction through forums, seminars and delegations' visits to enhance mutual understanding and friendship and gather more strength for carrying forward China-Cambodia friendship. With the further popularization of vaccination, personnel exchanges between China and Cambodia will be among the first to resume and create new development opportunities.

Fifth, an example of security cooperation. China and Cambodia will not yield to external pressure, will overcome all interferences and bear in mind the fundamental interests of the two countries. We will continue "Golden Dragon" joint drill and accelerate cooperation on major projects such as the construction of military academies. The two sides will further strengthen cooperation in domestic security, anti-terrorist and fighting against human smuggling, human trafficking, telecommunication frauds, cybercrimes and international fugitive repatriation, so as to safeguard the building of a community with a shared future between the two countries.
